The University’s Spring Break Mission Trip is an Office of Religious Life and Campus Ministry education abroad program. This one-week program offers students an opportunity to experience people and their cultures in a variety of countries.
Reasons to participate in a Spring Break Mission Trip include forging lasting relationships, learning to serve in a different culture, and receiving the blessings of helping others.
The students live in the communities with the people, they share meals in local restaurants, they shop in local stores, and they visit historical sites. But most importantly, the students use their Spring Break vacation for service, putting others first and refocusing on their faith. While many of the student participants are generally people of faith, this is not a requirement for consideration of this trip.
The Mission Trip group teams up with a local organization to bring support and resources to children between the ages of 5 to 13 living in the communities of the destination country. HT students focus on a variety of meaningful service opportunities which has included creating street signs in the community and bringing life to city parks by painting old playground equipment. Additionally, students find creative ways to teach the community about environmental safety concerns as well as other issues relevant to their community and the world.
The Spring Break Mission Trip is a time of sharing and caring.
